[ BACK ]  Detailed Description Direct Action Vest Cut-A-Way without Soft Ballistics Insert.. For models with ballistics, please call 650-580-8319. Designed specifically for Direct Action Assault. The vest is streamlined to allow for assault, climbing and ease of weapons handling while providing maximum protection. The DAV-C is an over the-head side entry vest that uses both internal and external cummerbund. The internal cummerbund ensures a stable and comfortable fit while sitting, running or jumping. The removable external cummerbund is used to cover and stabilize pouches while climbing or negotiating urban terrain (operators may use the external cummerbund for added load carrying capability). The DAV-C comes with adjustable shoulders for proper fit and a Single Point Release System (SPRS) that affords the operator the capability of doffing the DAV-C system in less than 2 seconds. The SPRS adds a vital capability to the DAV, which allows for rapid doffing in case of a water or a fire hazard, extrication or casualty assessment/treatment situations. The SPRS feature is activated by simply pulling the forward release handle. Once activated, the DAV-C falls away in one piece from the operator, thereby expediting equipment retrieval. The simple and straight forward design of the SPRS (patent pending) makes reassembly a snap! On average, a trained operator can reassemble the DAV-C in less than 60 seconds. The DAV-C like all PPM equipment is manufactured to withstand the rigors of combat. The system is fully modular (compatible with MOLLE/SPEAR, ALICE and MALICE ) pouches and accessories.
